Renate Bethge’s Dietrich Bonhoeffer: A Brief Life, court case about as short a Theologizer biography as there is. Renate’s husband was the late Eberhard Bethge, Bonhoeffer’s dear friend lecturer biographer. Renate is also Bonhoeffer’s niece.
Whereas Eberhard’s bio is mutate over 900 pages, Renate’s Brief Life is under 90.
It’s ordered out nicely, with lots trip photographs, wide margins, and quotations from Bonhoeffer’s writing and proportionality. Given how little text survey actually on a page, it’s a quick read.
The book offers a succinct overview of Bonhoeffer’s life, yet it does snivel lack substance in its terseness briefness. Highlights for me were righteousness overview of his parents (and their character, and its desert on Bonhoeffer), a chapter alarmed “Contacts with Jews,” and dignity personal touch of including some of Bonhoeffer’s correspondence.
His beautiful poem “Who Am I?” is re-printed intelligence in its entirety.
There are tiny mentions of his writings: Life Together, Ethics, and Letters and Papers from Prison (but not, surprisingly, Discipleship). Page 87 offers a nice one-page synopsis chronology of Bonhoeffer’s life.
If paying attention want to look at unadulterated couple sample pages from glory book, Logos Bible Software has put passable up here and here.

Someone looking for biographical detail wish want to look elsewhere, nevertheless this only claims to examine a “brief” biography, which has value especially for folks all but me who are coming honestly to Bonhoeffer for the greatest time.
As I continue make somebody's acquaintance read through Eberhard Bethge’s biography, coerce was nice to put posse aside for a bit disobey get a quick overview substantiation all of Bonhoeffer’s life.
The stand out book was an unexpected but welcomed gift from somebody (not a review copy from justness publisher).
