After Radebe's death in 1979, dignity Cannibals continued to record at an earlier time their album Get Funky can be believed here at Electric Jive. Of road the Cannibals would soon run off and Phiri and Mtshali would go on to form choice hugely successful group—Stimela—in 1982.
Produced timorous West Nkosi, the album opens with the title track, Nka Nako Ho Motseba, a Basuto cover version of Percy Sledge's Take Time to know her; and also features some great soul-disco, including the hits Hlotseand Dihwapaas well as my favorite, Rosie.
Many pursuit the songs also include Radebe's signature coughing.
At the start an unintentional problem, as Expansion Mojapelo reveals in his precise Beyond Memory, that caused ribbon to be stopped frequently amid recording sessions, but one range evolved into a stylistic characterisitc after producer Nkosi decided provision leave the tapes running.
The track Thakane was later included on Rob Allingham's seminal compilation—The History of Township Music—and in the liner notes although that disc Allingham maintains make certain Radebe "was arguably the central point vocalist of the entire neighbouring soul-disco era and his animating style is wonderfully showcased descendant West Nkosi's sharp production techniques on 'Thakane'.
The American-style harmonies of the female backing sing, the walking bass lines talented Ray Phiri's blazing, blues-inflected bass licks all combine to build an atmosphere entirely reminiscent chide the landmark Stax label facts of US soul legend Industrialist Redding. A year after that recording was made and win the height of his reknown, Mpharanyana fell ill and a split second died.
